6.3.7. Zadny Bridge

GENERAL INFORMATION

Zadny Bridge contains a reducer and half shafts. The reducer consists of the main transfer and differential. Gaps in gearing of gear wheels and a tightness of bearings of differential and the main transfer at assembly are regulated by a special technique with use of the difficult equipment. Therefore, repair of a reducer should be carried out in specialized workshops. When replacing a reducer it is necessary to know transfer number of gear wheels of the main transfer. The transfer number is specified parts of cars on the plate strengthened on the reducer case. On some cars this number is determined by marking of number according to the catalog which is beaten out on the reducer case. In the absence of these data the transfer number can be determined by the relation of speed of the driveshaft and a wheel.
