3.3.11. Yokes and pushers


1. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Turn off lock-nuts and turn off adjusting screws of valves for minimization of pressure of springs upon yokes.
3. Since the middle, turn off fixing bolts of an axis of yokes, turning off them on a quarter of a turn for time to remove pressure of springs of valves from yokes.
4. After all bolts are weakened, they can be turned off up to the end; do not remove bolts from basic racks as they are established in cuts on an axis of yokes and support the correct arrangement of all elements of an axis of yokes.
5. Remove an axis of yokes from above of a head of the block of cylinders.
6. If you need to remove pushers, get them from openings in a head and you store them in a strict order in order that they could be established on the initial places.
7. Remove various elements from an axis of yokes and you store them so that not to mix. Pushers are recommended to be stored, having inserted into a cardboard strip with the numbered openings.
8. Note the correct provision of installation of each of elements at its removal to establish them in initial situation.
9. For dismantling of an axis of yokes accurately remove a lock ring from the forward end of an axis; hold a yoke in order that it did not come off an axis.
10. Remove various elements from the end of an axis, keeping them in that order in what they were established.
11. Note the provision of installation of everyone of their elements and its orientation at removal in order that it is correct to establish elements further.
12. Leave a lock ring on the back end of an axis not to mix the forward and back ends of an axis.


1. Examine working surfaces of yokes which concern camshaft cams on existence of wear tracks or scratches.
2. Replace the worn-out yokes.
3. If the working surface of a yoke is strongly scratched, also examine a surface of the corresponding cam on distributive to a shaft on wear existence as it is very probable that both of them will be worn-out.
4. Replace the worn-out elements. The axis of yokes can be sorted.
5. Examine the ends of the adjusting screws (regulating a gap of valves) on existence of wear tracks or damages and replace them if it is necessary.
6. If the axis of yokes understood, examine yokes and working surfaces of an axis on existence of wear tracks and scratches.
7. If they are strongly worn-out, the corresponding yokes and / or an axis of yokes need to be replaced.
8. If you have necessary measuring tools, the size of wear can be determined by direct measurements (see subsection 3.3.2).
9. Check that covers were correctly established for the ends of an axis of yokes and that lubricant flutes of an axis were pure and were not littered. Otherwise oil will not arrive to yokes that will result in premature wear of elements.
10. Check all pushers for existence of damages and check that they were not deformed, having given a ride to them on a plain surface. If any of pushers it is damaged or deformed, it needs to be replaced.


1. If the axis of yokes understood, apply a layer of pure engine oil on an axis.
2. Check that the back lock ring was reliably established in a flute on an axis, then establish the removed elements on an axis, having checked that they were established precisely on the initial places.
3. Pay attention that the axis of yokes is not symmetric; check that the axis of yokes was established so that the big lubricant flute (it is specified by an arrow) was in front.
4. Combine openings for fixing bolts in basic racks with cuts on an axis of yokes and establish fixing bolts.
5. After all necessary elements are established on an axis, squeeze a spring of a forward yoke and establish a lock ring, having checked that it was correctly established in the flute.
6. Establish all pushers on the initial places, having checked that the lower end of each of pushers was correctly installed on the regulator.
7. Check that gaps of valves were correctly adjusted by means of adjusting screws of yokes. Then establish an axis of yokes from above of a head of the block of cylinders.
8. Tighten all fixing bolts a hand, then, twisting bolts on a quarter of a turn for once, gradually tighten all bolts in order that springs of valves began to press on yokes.
9. After basic racks of an axis of yokes concern a head of the block of cylinders, gradually tighten all bolts till the required inhaling moment.
10. Adjust gaps of valves, then establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
