GENERAL INFORMATION

DIESEL C223 ENGINES

Wear of pushers on the diesels C223

1 – pitting

2 – cracks

3 – normal wear

4 – abnormal wear

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Remove the engine.
3. Remove a cover and yokes of the drive of valves.
4. Get bars of pushers, paste on them labels according to the place of initial installation.
5. Uncover pushers and an oil supply tube.
6. Remove the holder of an epiploon of the camshaft.
7. Remove the case of the leading gear wheel of the camshaft.
8. Remove the camshaft (see subsection 3.2.2.27).
9. Get pushers, paste on them labels according to the place of initial installation.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish pushers on former places.
2. Install the camshaft (see subsection 3.2.2.27).
3. Install the case of the leading gear wheel of the camshaft.
4. Establish the holder of an epiploon of the camshaft.
5. Establish a cover of pushers and a tube of supply of oil.
6. Establish bars of pushers on former places.
7. Establish yokes and a cover.
8. Install the engine.
9. Connect the battery to weight. Fill in cooling liquid, start the engine and be convinced of lack of a leak.

V6 ENGINES

Removal of pushers on the V6 engine

1 – air filter
2 – right cover of the mechanism of gas distribution
3 – left cover
4 – the soaking-up collector
5 – yoke
6 – pusher bar
7 – hydropusher

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight. Remove a final collector and a cover of the drive of valves. Remove yokes and get bars of hydropushers, paste on them labels according to the place of initial installation.
2. Get hydropushers. In the presence on them resinous deposits wash out pushers in a cleaner for the carburetor.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of new hydropushers or if old understood, it is necessary to fill them with oil and to remove air. Ship a pusher in SAE-10 oil and carefully press a plunger by means of a bar with a diameter of 3,0 mm. Having taken a plunger in the pressed state (not to pump over!), slowly release. After implementation of this procedure the pusher is filled with oil.
2. Grease ground parts of pushers with molybdenic Molycote lubricant and establish pushers and bars on former places.
3. Establish yokes and adjust gaps in valves.
