GENERAL INFORMATION

Check of the generator and its knots

1 – check of isolation of windings of the stator (not less than 1 Megohm)

2 – check of the rectifier

3 – check of a winding of a rotor (4 Ohms)

4 – check of isolation of a winding of a rotor (not less than 1 Megohm)

5 – check of a winding of the stator

GENERATORS OF ENGINES OF EARLY MODELS WITH THE EXTERNAL REGULATOR OF TENSION

The scheme of a charge of the battery (for petrol engines of early releases with the external regulator of tension)

1 – ignition switch
2 – a fusible insert on 15 A, N4
3 – a fusible insert on 15 A, N5

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the generator from the car.
2. Turn off and get coupling bolts, separate a forward cover.
3. Turn off a nut, remove a pulley and a krylchatka.
4. Uncover also the forward bearing.
5. Remove a back cover and a winding of the stator.
6. Get brushes and the rectifier.
7. Check integrity of a winding of a rotor, having measured resistance between contact rings. Resistance has to be 4 Ohms.
8. Check short circuit of a rotor for the core (resistance has to be not less than 1 Megohm).
9. Check integrity of a chain of a winding of the stator.
10. Measure resistance between windings of the stator and the core which has to be not less than 1 Megohm.
11. Check the rectifier, having measured resistance of diodes in direct (zero) and the return (infinite) the directions.

Prevention

On V6 engines the CS 130 generator with the built-in regulator of tension is installed. Check of serviceability of system of a charge on V6 engines is carried out at the special stand. The generator does not demand maintenance and is not subject to repair, is replaced as the separate unit.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect on the generator a cable from the battery and connect to a cable a negative conclusion of the ampermeter (or a tester).
2. Connect a positive conclusion of the ampermeter to the released (power) conclusion of the generator.
3. Start the engine and bring turns to 1900 rpm. The ampermeter has to show current no more than 10A.
4. If current is more, then replace the regulator of tension.
5. Connect a positive conclusion of the voltmeter to a power conclusion of the generator, and connect a negative conclusion to weight. Start the engine and bring turns to 1900 rpm. The voltmeter has to show tension of 14,2-14,8 Century.
6. If tension is more than 14,2-14,8 B, then replace the regulator of tension.
7. If tension is less, then check the generator and the regulator of tension.
8. Connect F conclusion (an excitement winding) to weight for what enter into an opening on a generator cover the tool or a piece of the bared wire.
9. Start the engine and check tension on a power conclusion of the generator.
10. If tension exceeds norm, replace tension regulator if norms are lower, check the generator.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the generator from the car.
2. Turn off and get through bolts, turn off a nut and remove a pulley.
3. Remove a rotor assembled, a cover of the case of the bearing and the forward bearing.
4. Remove a forward cover, turn off nuts of fastening of the rectifier.
5. Remove a back cover and a winding of the stator, turn off and get nuts.
6. Remove a krylchatka, the condenser and the plug of connection with a cable from the battery.
7. Remove the rectifier, brush holders assembled with brushes and the regulator of tension.
8. Check integrity of windings and chains.
9. Check integrity of a winding of a rotor, having measured resistance between contact rings. Resistance has to be no more than 2,63 Ohms.
10. Check short circuit of a rotor for the core (resistance has to be not less than 1 Megohm).
11. Check integrity of a chain of a winding of the stator.
12. Measure resistance between windings of the stator and the core which has to be not less than 1 Megohm.
13. Check the rectifier, having measured resistance of diodes in direct (zero) and the return (infinite) the directions.
