Cracks on belt section

Are formed when clothing a belt on a pulley of too small diameter. Cause an overheat and premature break. For small pulleys corrugated belts are used.

Softening (oil hit)

At hit of oil there is a peeling of rubber from a framework. The belt starts anew to slip, and then breaks.


Brightness is caused by slipping which is the reason of an insufficient charge of the battery, unsatisfactory operation of hinged units. When slipping the belt is ground, and in turn slipping amplifies. Is eliminated with adjustment of a tension.

Peeling of a covering

After peeling of a covering the framework wears out and the belt quickly breaks. At detection of the increased wear of a covering check surfaces of pulleys, existence on them of furrows or roughnesses.


It is the last stage of wear. When peeling the framework is bared. Before full break remains very little.


It is necessary to check a condition of belts of the drive (existence on belts of cracks, stratifications, traces of a podgoraniye or mechanical damages) through each 25000 km of a run.

Determine a belt tension by deflection size in the middle between two pulleys, having pressed under moderate effort to a belt a thumb. If distance between centers of pulleys of 330-400 mm the deflection of a belt has to be 13 mm, at distance between centers of pulleys of 178-330 mm the deflection of a belt has to be 6,0 mm. If the deflection differs from norm, then weaken bolts and adjust. Previously it is necessary to remove the eaten soot and deposits of dust from a belt, having wiped it with the rags moistened with solvent.
